A funny work experience that I thought I would share with you kids.

ME: "STANDARDCOMPANYBLAHBLAHBLAHthis is Beth. How may I help you?"
MAN: INSERT FANCY FRENCH TALK HERE
ME: "..." "...I'm so sorry, sir. Can you repeat yourself?"
MAN: -switches to English- "Oh, sorry. Is this the office for the Montréal Morning Paper?"
ME: "No, sir. I believe you have the wrong number."
MAN: "I'm sorry." -click-

A few seconds later.

ME: "...wait. Montréal?! AS IN MONTRÉAL, CANADA?!"
COWORKERS: -laugh-

Obviously, we have a Canadian number routed to our central station. Explains the French.
